Aluminum Products: New Licensing Requirements Starting January 25

Section 301 Exclusions of Certain COVID-19 Medical Products Extended to March 31, 2021

The Office of USTR announced today the determination to extend certain product exclusions and to make further modifications to remove Section 301 duties from additional medical-care products to address COVID-19.  In a notice posted to it’s website, the USTR determined that maintaining or re-imposing additional duties on certain products subject to the action no longer is appropriate and that the application of additional duties to these products could impact US preparedness to address COVID-19.

Virtual Tour of the Port of Montreal January 28

Every year, A.N. Deringer and the Port of Montreal partner to host a tour of the port and the terminal, as well as offer a chance to hop aboard a cargo ship and see first-hand how containers and commodities are loaded and unloaded.

Due to Covid-19 related travel restrictions, they were unable to host this annual event in 2020.  However, they now have a unique opportunity to offer the tour virtually, which allows customers and partners located far and wide to see and learn more about the Port of Montreal from the comfort of your home office.

The tour will take place January 28 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

The event will feature:

  • A talk with A.N. Deringer, Inc. about Customs
  • Q&A with the Montreal Port Authority
  • Discussing lading and unlading, container movement with a terminal operator
  • Learning about container shipping with Hapag Lloyd
  • A virtual tour of the vessel and terminal

Note: Your mailing address is required in registering because they will mail a special gift package to use during this fun, virtual event!
