The following are selected items on committee calendars for the coming week that might be of interest to members. Schedules are subject to change. Economic Development. The House Commerce and Economic Development Committee will review economic programs in the Governor’s budget request through the week. The House Ways and Means Committee will discuss changes to Vermont’s laws and regulations addressing apportionment of taxable corporate income Tuesday, and expansion of the sales and use tax exemption for manufacturing machinery and equipment Thursday (AIV will testify on both issues).
Environmental Regulation. The House Natural Resources, Fish, and Wildlife Committee will discuss H.108, addressing Clean Water Act Section 401 certifications, Tuesday. The Senate Health and Welfare Committee and Natural Resources and Energy Committee will have a joint discussion about PCBs and other chemicals of concern Tuesday.
Labor and Workplace Issues. The Senate Economic Development, Housing, and General Affairs Committee will discuss and possibly vote on S.10, extending and amendment certain COVID-19 related UI provisions enacted last year, Tuesday, and will discuss possible ways to mitigate anticipated increases in UI taxes resulting from the COVID-19 crisis Friday.
Product Regulation. The House Agriculture and Forestry Committee will discuss H. 58, addressing right to repair for agricultural equipment, Wednesday. The House Natural Resources, Fish, and Wildlife Committee will discuss H.175, addressing Vermont’s beverage container redemption system, Thursday.
Taxes and Fees. The House Ways and Means Committee will discuss changes to Vermont’s laws and regulations addressing apportionment of taxable corporate income Tuesday, and expansion of the sales and use tax exemption for manufacturing machinery and equipment Thursday (AIV will testify on both issues).
Transportation. The Senate Transportation Committee will discuss truck permitting issues Wednesday.
