The following are selected items on committee calendars for the coming week that might be of interest to members. Schedules are subject to change. Product Regulation. The House Commerce and Economic Development Committee will discuss and possibly vote on H.81, addressing right to repair for agricultural equipment, Tuesday. The House Human Services Committee will review S.25, banning PFAS and other chemicals in a number of consumer products, Wednesday.
Workforce Development. The House Commerce and Economic Development Committee will discuss H.484, addressing workforce development, Tuesday. The House Environment and Energy will discuss and possibly vote on S.100, addressing housing development, Monday, and the House Ways and Means Committee is expected to vote on the bill later this week.
Labor and Workplace Regulations. The House Education Committee will discuss S.103, reducing standards for workplace harassment and prohibiting no-rehire settlement agreements, through the week. The House General and Housing Committee will discuss S.102, prohibiting certain mandatory employee meetings and allowing card-check union elections for employers not under the jurisdiction of the NLRB, Thursday. The Senate Economic Development, Housing, and General Affairs Committee will discuss and likely vote on H.217, addressing changes in workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance, Tuesday.
Taxes and Fees. The House Ways and Means Committee will discuss tax increases to pay for new child care policies in S.56 through the week.
