This Week in Committees | Week of January 8

Labor and Workplace Regulation.  The House Commerce Committee will discuss H.560, addressing technical corrections to workers’ compensation rulemaking requirements, as well as a report on workforce development governance, Thursday.  The House General and Housing Committee will discuss H.363, prohibiting discrimination based on certain hair types and styles, Thursday.

Environmental Regulation. The House Natural Resources and Energy Committee will discuss aspects of climate resiliency through the week.  It will discuss proposals to reform Act 250 Wednesday and to expand Vermont’s renewable energy mandates starting Thursday.

Transportation.  The House Transportation Committee will discuss DMV modernization and truck permits Tuesday.

Product Regulation.  The Senate Health and Welfare Committee will discuss S.197, which would prohibit schools, towns, and the state from purchasing products containing PFAS, set up a state initiative to monitor adverse health conditions attributed to PFAS in Vermont, and ban pesticides containing PFAS or exposed to PFAS in their packaging.
